With an abundance of electronic activity, such as Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii and Xbox, it’s becoming exceptionally rare to spot a child between the ages of 8 – 15 outdoors *even arcades have become emptier with the release of home entertainment systems*
The worrying part is that they are no longer participating in sports and physical activities because of their new techno buddies. This leads to the problem I term ‘McDonalds and chaos’.
My theory is that the lack of physical exercise leads to a cycle of unhealthy eating too, and before long we have blubbers of fat bouncing around *don’t get me wrong there’s nothing wrong with fat people, but it’s the health risk involved that worries me*
Through MTB, I believe we can fight this hefty *excuse the pun* issue. By getting kids involved in competitions and other cycling activities, we can get them out the bedroom and onto the track.
So parents: don’t take away the electronic stuff for good. But put it away on the weekends, and get your children out into the fresh air and sunshine on two wheels.
I wanna go back to the days when I’d see the little rascals riding bikes around the neighbourhood. Come back children and provide me with the utopia of suburbia.
